How conversation starters help us build intimacy plus thoughts on the loneliness epidemic

Hello friends!

Yesterday I posted this little re-cap of my first IRL Meet Up I hosted in London last November. It inspired me to chat about the rise of conversation starters and how these can help us build deeper levels of intimacy and understanding in community and in our relationships.

Nearly 1 in 4 people are lonely. As we navigate the post-COVID world, we’re more alone and isolated as a society than we’ve ever been, and I know many people feel at a loss of how to be in community, meet new people, or relate to others differently. Conversation starters allow for better conversation, leading to more intimacy. These help us understand each other, build resonance, and connect deeper, benefiting our emotional, mental, and physical health.

Here are the articles, businesses and accounts I reference:

  1. Pinterest Predicts 2024

  2. New York Times: 36 Questions that Lead to Love

  3. We’re Not Really Strangers

  4. The Nue. Co

  5. The loneliness epidemic: Nearly 1 in 4 adults feel lonely, new survey finds

  6. Peoplehood

  7. Bumble Debuts AI-Powered Conversation Starters and Plans for Friends

  8. ReFlex The Game

Lots of love,

PS. Stay tuned for news on 2024 meet ups in NYC, London and Melbourne!
